As BTR Services focuses on the financial industry, we see that the mainframe still has a dominant position as a platform for its back-office support. In the short and middle term planning of most of the larger financial institutions, we see no indication that the mainframe as the main back-office platform is going to be replaced.
On the contrary, due to its stability, robustness and scalability, the mainframe as a back-office platform is gaining importance. This means that we are constantly challenged by our customers to find (the right) mainframe people and if we do not find them right away, to create (educate) them.
More then ever before a mainframe consultant is becoming rare and contrarily to what was widely expected and assumed, the mainframe (consultant) is not about to be extinguished!
